WIth the bases loaded and his team trailing by a run, Mike Lawson stepped to the plate and delivered a two run double to lift the White Sox to a 5-4 victory over the Thrashers on Sunday. The hit was Lawson's third in the game and followed a scoreless inning relief that also earned him his second win of the season.

In a game that featured the league's only remaining unbeaten teams, the Thrashers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third before chasing home another run in the fifth to lead it 4-0. Dustin Mitchell, who started for the Thrashers and threw three shutout innings collected two hits and drove in a run, while Luis Medina drove in two.

The White Sox who had runners on base every inning, finally broke through in the fifth when Brandon Whitmore chased home Lawson with an RBI double. The Sox then strung together a couple pair of singles, a walk, and a hit batter to set the stage for Lawson's heroics. Zach Case hit an RBI single in the inning and Gordon Perry chased home the other run when he was hit by pitch.

The White Sox will look to remain unbeaten and atop the standings when they host the Pirates next week, while the Thrashers will look to keep pace when they take on the Steamers.
