The Black Sox rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning and held on to beat the Marlins, 4-3 on Opening Day in the 33+ Division.

The Marlins jumped out to an early lead with a run in the top of the 1st on an RBI double by Chris Henry, but the Black Sox answered in the bottom of the 1st when Gary Kott's 2-out RBI single leveled the score at 1-1.

In the second, the Marlins capitalized on a pair of Black Sox errors when Kris Anderson ripped a two run double to right center to put the Marlins back in front 3-1. Starting pitchers, Andy Jennings (Marlins) and Rob Rickenbach (Black Sox) traded scoreless innings until the Black Sox struck for three runs in the home half of the 5th.

After an error allowed the leadoff man to reach base, a single by Don Carson and an RBI double by Webster Thomas made it a 3-2 ballgame before back to back hit batters chased home the tying run.

With the bases loaded and nobody out, Jesse Argon relieved Jennings and induced a ground ball that couldn't be fielded allowing the Black Sox to take the lead. After a strikeout and a pair of fly ball outs, Argon was able to limit the damage and keep his team in the game.

Ian Allen relieved Rickenbach and earned the save by recording the final six outs for the Black Sox.

Up Next: The Marlins will head home next weekend to host the Pirates (1-0), while the Black Sox will travel to face the Reds (0-1).
