The White Sox rallied from a 10-1 deficit to beat the Marlins on Opening Day, 13-12. Gavin Rainwater laced a game winning, two run single to left center with two outs in the bottom of the 7th to complete the comeback.

The Marlins grabbed an early lead with a two run first inning following an RBI single by Shawn Eubanks and an RBI groundout by Tyree Wicker. In the second, a White Sox error lead to another Marlins run making in 3-0.

Following an RBI double in the bottom of the 4th by Ian Allen that cut the lead to 3-1, the Marlins went back to work taking advantage of a handful of walks and defensive miscues on their way to a seven run 5th inning. Joseph Handley, Eubanks, and Benny O'Reilly all contributed in the inning with RBI singles.

With the Marlins having to go to the bullpen in the 5th following a strong start by Greyson Shaw who struck out 11 in 4+ innings of work, the White Sox began to chip away at the Marlins lead. After scoring four in the bottom of the 5th, the White Sox plated 5 more in the 6th to tie the game at 10-10.

In the top of the 7th, Wicker smashed a two run double to the wall in left center to put the Marlins back in front 12-10. In the home half of the inning, an infield single by Gordon Perry chased home a run to make it 12-11 before Rainwater ripped a two out, two run single to left center that chased home the tying and winning runs for White Sox.

Up Next: The Marlins will visit the Padres (0-1) on Friday night at Chain Field, while the White Sox will host the Goon Squad (1-0) on Thursday at New Hampstead High School.
