The Steamers opened their 2021 season with an 11-1 win over the Padres on Opening Day at Chain Field. Starting pitcher, Jordan Knight, earned his first win of the season as he held the Padres offense to just one hit while striking out eight over five innings of work. 

The Steamers offense was lead by Brooks Williams and Michael Sean Gutierrez who each drove in three runs while collecting a pair of hits to include a double each. Les Harley also drove in two runs for the Steamers. 

Up Next: The Steamers will visit the Royals (0-0) on Wednesday night at Scott Stell, while the Padres will host the Marlins (0-1) on Friday night at Chain Field.
