BLACK SOX SLUG THEIR WAY TO WIN OVER REDS

The Black Sox slugged their way to a win over the Reds on Sunday, 13-5.

The Sox offense collected 21 hits on the day, with every player in the lineup picking up at least one. Ian Allen, who homered twice and drove in six, and Matt Metsker, who drove in four more, each had three hits, while Gary Kott, Josh Williams, Tim Waine, and Rob Rickenbach each had two.  

David Price went 4-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs and Happy Haeussler had two hits and a pair of RBIs to lead the Reds offense. Steve Seymour also ripped a double for the Reds. 

Rickenbach earned the win for the Black Sox after tossing two innings in relief of starter Anthony Williams. Losing pitcher, Kevin Fitzmaurice, tossed a complete game for the Reds. 

Up Next: The Black Sox (2-0) will visit the Braves (2-0) on Sunday at Chain Field, while the Reds (0-2) will visit the Pirates (2-0) at Memorial.
