Zach Case raced home and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning to lift the White Sox over the Steamers 2-1 on Wednesday night.

The White Sox opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Ian Allen lined an RBI double to the gap in left center. The Steamers would answer in the top of the third after a Jim Tamarack single, when Brooks Williams delicately placed a line drive down the right field line to double home a run and level the score at 1-1. Neither team would score again until Case was able to score on a passed ball.

Andrew Strittmatter tossed a complete game to pick up the win for the White Sox allowing just one run on six hits while striking out four. Jordan Knight matched Strittmatter pitch for pitch as he went the distance for the Steamers allowing just one earned run on six hits while striking out three.

Up Next: The White Sox (4-1) will host the Thrashers (1-3) on Sunday at New Hampstead, while the Steamers (4-1) will visit the Goon Squad (2-1) at Memorial.
