After showing signs of life last weekend against the Thrashers, the Pirates finally broke through with their first win of the season on Sunday beating the Marlins, 8-2. 

The Pirates got their offense rolling early, picking up a pair of runs in each of the first two innings to grab a 4-0 lead. After the Marlins cut the lead in half, the Pirates pitching clamped down and their offense added some late insurance to secure the win. 

The Pirates (1-6) will look to continue their winning ways against the Red Sox (3-4) next weekend as they look to improve their playoff positioning, while the Marlins (3-4) will look to bounce back against the Steamers (1-6).
